TBWA\C\D Promotes 2 Planners

TBWA\Chiat\Day has elevated senior planners Suzanne Powers and Dave Weaver to deputy planning directors. Weaver, 36, has been with TBWA\C\D for two years. He was on the Nissan team that developed the strategic platform "Shift" and also worked on the launch of the Z model. Weaver will now also work on the Infiniti account. Powers, 33, is a three-year TBWA\C\D vet who has worked on Mars brands Uncle Bens, Whiskas and Seeds of Change. She will oversee planning on all non-car accounts, including Energizer, Apple and Adidas. The two assume the added responsibilities from planning director Richard Monturo, who is now working with TBWA\C\D's New York office on a project basis, said Carisa Bianchi, chief strategy officer for TBWA\C\D in Playa del Rey, Calif. Powers and Weaver will report to Bianchi. "They have made significant contributions to the Los Angeles office," Bianchi said. "Dave has done a tremendous job directing and leading the Nissan brand." She added that Powers has been "very pivotal" in leading planning for the Mars brands, helping with new business pitches and in leading "disruptive workshops" to foster innovative thinking and work.
