BOSTON Sovereign Bank has launched a redesigned Web site that boasts improved access to various financial tools such as calculators, a streamlined system for letting customers open new accounts and enhanced functions allowing consumers to find ATMs, branch locations or contact the bank via phone or e-mail.
Interactive marketing shop Agency.com in New York, a unit of Omnicom Group, and online technology company Tallan in Glastonbury, Conn., handled the assignment. In today's high-tech world, "customer service must extend to the Internet," said Tallan chief executive Craig Branning.
The Wymoissing, Pa.-based client claims more than $40 billion in assets and ranks among the nation's 25 largest banks. It operates in New England, New York and Pennsylvania, with more than 500 branches and 1,000 ATMs.
