Retailer Taps Arnold for Site Development
BOSTON - Arnold Communications and sister company Circle.com have been retained by Talbots to help launch an e-commerce site this fall, said sources.
The Hingham, Mass.-based retailer will look to complement its current store and catalog operations with a Web site that goes beyond its current "brochure style" offering to sell Talbots' apparel, shoes and accessories for women and kids.
When asked specifically about expanding the scope of its relationship with Boston-based Arnold, Talbots director of public relations Margery Myers said, "I have nothing to announce to you at this time."
Myers did acknowledge that several new initiatives are under consideration for the fall, including plans "to introduce online shopping in time for the holidays" and expanding its commitment to advertising on television.
New efforts will continue to carry the Arnold-created tagline, "It's a classic," introduced a year ago in print and what was then Talbots first television ads, she said. The client ran two commercial flights in March and May, buying spot and cable TV in select markets. Arnold has served as Talbots' agency of record for the last three years.
