ouston pedestrians are watching their step these days, thanks to a new campaign for personal injury attorney Michael Tracton.
Strategically placed near cracks in the pavement on downtown sidewalks is a warning, sprayed in water-soluble paint: "Step here and better hope your mother doesn't call me," playing off a familiar children's rhyme. Tracton's name and phone number follow the dire message.
The campaign, from Clarity Coverdale Fury in Minneapolis, has met with an enthusiastic response from the agency's media department, said copywriter Michael Atkinson. "Reach over a thousand people a day with a stencil and a can of spray paint: How's that for cost per thousand?" he said.
A representative in Houston mayor Lee Brown's office said he was unaware of the guerrilla graffiti campaign and had no reaction to it.
