SyQuest Technology Corp. heard final presentations last week from three San Francisco agencies in a review for its estimated $30 million ad account, sources said.
The finalists are J. Walter Thompson and two other undisclosed shops, said sources. The portable computer hard drive manufacturer is expected to make a decision by the end of this month.
Fremont Calif.-based SyQuest’s incumbent agency, Silakhan Route, San Francisco, was not invited to participate, sources said. Media First, New York, currently handles media buying and planning for the client.
“We can only confirm that a review is taking place,” said Sally Slate, SyQuest’s advertising manager, who recently joined the firm from Nestlƒ.
