Real estate developer Del Webb Corp. has selected Kolar Advertising & Marketing to handle the $2 million advertising account of Sun City Texas.
The Austin, Texas-based agency was selected following a review of four undisclosed Lone Star state shops. Publicis/Hal Riney in Chicago continues to handlethe national corporate branding account ofSun City.
Del Webb of Phoenix develops active lifestyle communities targeted to baby boomers aged 55 and older. Sun City Texas, located near Georgetown, Texas, is one of several such developments the company operates in six states.
"We presented our background of extensive real estate experience, regional media relations and knowledge of the Texas market," said agency president Rhonda Kolar. "Our goal will be to drive sales and traffic here locally. Texas is a sort of unique market; there are regional messages that you need."
The agency will begin by producing television, radio, print and Internet advertising for Sun City's newest series of homes, the lower price range Monogram Edition.
The 45-person Kolar operation posted billings last year of $24 million. Its client roster includes 3M, Dell and franchisee groups of Schlotzsky's Deli.
