Sullivan to Refocus Ryan's Texas Office

DALLAS The new president of Ryan Partnership's local office is repositioning the shop to focus more on brand-platform and retailer-based promotions rather than just regional promotions.

Dan Sullivan joined the Irving, Texas, office in February after an eight-year stint at Ryan's headquarters in Wilton, Conn. He most recently was EVP of promotions.

As part of an agencywide push to export some senior-level management into the regional offices, Sullivan headed to the Dallas-area shop to take over as president. Joe Robinson, president of Ryan's Minneapolis office, had been heading the 14-person Irving outpost after Dave Williams left the president post last September.

"The investment in the Dallas office represents the company's commitment to develop the office as a national player within promotions," Sullivan said.

Sullivan, who has handled promotional work for GE Capital in the past, will continue the relationship with the client; future GE Capital work will likely be handled by the Irving office, Sullivan said.

Sullivan's relationship with GE Capital helped the agency win an assignment from GE Appliances earlier this year. The Irving office is working on a promotion for the client's new GE Profile oven that will break in the third quarter.

The office handles promotions for clients that include Nestle Waters and formerly serviced Nokia and Mission Foods.
