Stone & Ward has recruited writer Jay Cranford as creative director of the $35 million agency.

A former senior writer at TBWA\Chiat\Day in Los Angeles, Cranford has spent the last three years in Little Rock, Ark., where he has written, produced and directed an independent film, Company Man, and worked as a partner and creative director in a small branding company.

His name is a familiar one in local advertising circles as the son of Little Rock advertising executive Wayne Cranford, co-founder of the state’s largest agency, Cranford Johnson Robinson Woods.

The younger Cranford, who begins work July 15, joins executive creative director and chief executive officer Larry Stone, creative director of interactive and graphic design Bill Gangluff, and associate creative directors Jean Romano and Jeff Moore to round out the senior creative leadership at Stone & Ward.
