STOCKING UP IN S.F.

With no production budget, Gardner, Geary, Cole & Young/S.F. relied on stock footage for this 5-minutes film for the San Francisco Chamber of Commerce. But the shop didn't stop there. Using scenes from a 1940s trade film (it's actually a debate on the virtues of gypsum plasterboard versus plaster), GGC&Y dubbed in humorous dialogue to create a boardroom debate on whether to move a company to S.F. The creators hope the film, which will be shown as an ice breaker to those considering relocation, will disarm viewers and assuage concerns about S.F.'s reputation for kooks, earthquakes and anti-business sentiment.
