ATLANTA Starmark International said it has promoted its executive creative director, Ernie Cox, to chief creative officer, increasing his role in the agency's senior leadership.
"Ernie has brought an inspired vision and heads up a top-notch creative team, assembled under his guidance, that has delivered strategically brilliant work for our agency's clients," said Dan Estes, CEO of the independent Fort Lauderdale, Fla., shop. "This well-deserved promotion is based on his significant contributions to the expansion and stature of Starmark over the last two years."
There are no immediate plans to hire a new executive creative director, Cox said. He will continue to function in that role, in addition to devoting more time to the broader brand strategy initiatives at the shop. Cox will continue to report to Estes.
Before joining Starmark in 2003, Cox led creative teams at J. Walter Thompson, Leo Burnett, Cramer-Krasselt, DDB, NW Ayer and Foote, Cone & Belding. His brand experience includes IBM, Sunkist, Clairol, Volkswagen, Southwest Airlines, Procter & Gamble, John Deere, DuPont, Pfizer and Kraft.
