CHICAGO Gardner Geary Coll has enlisted StarLink Worldwide to handle a variety of media assignments estimated at $25 million in billings after a pitch that included Carat.

The Chicago-based division of Publicis Groupe's Starcom MediaVest Group will handle media planning, research and buying for a number of the San Francisco agency's clients. GGC's roster includes Fischer Price, Stridex, Delta Dental and Fireman's Fund, though StarLink will not necessarily work on all those brands, according to an agency representative.

"Our commitment is to service GGC with the best media services in the business," said StarLink president Scott Neslund in a statement. "We have developed a service structure tailored to GGC's needs and we will provide the media resources to deliver an advantage for their clients and their business."

StarLink was established in August 1999 to handle media assignments for small and midsize agencies. The GGC assignment will he handled out of StarLink's Chicago office, though GGC will maintain some media staffers in San Francisco as a presence for local clients.
