Starcom North America has promoted Richard Fielding to vice president, director of U.S. media research in Chicago from Asia-Pacific research director in Hong Kong.

Charged with spearheading strategic U.S. research, Fielding, 36, reports to Renetta McCann, Starcom’s CEO.

“In Asia, his insights allowed our planners and buyers to bring our ‘contact specialist’ approach to life,” McCann said. “Without question, he offered clients the best understanding of Asian consumers and their interaction with brands. We expect him to infuse his global perspective, expertise and personal fire into our already strong U.S.
