CHICAGO Publicis Groupe’s Starcom MediaVest said on Monday that it has withdrawn from the review for America Online’s estimated $300 million media business.

The Chicago-based agency cited a conflict with current client Disney. “Having mapped out the future contact environment for AOL, we felt the future of that business lives in a space that may be in direct conflict with Disney, an extremely important client to us,” read a statement issued by the shop. SMG’s Starcom handles Disney’s $750 million media business, which it won in December 2001 after a review.
