Starbucks Branded Drinks to BBDO

NEW YORK Starbucks is moving its estimated $10 million bottled branded drinks account to BBDO here from Goodby, Silverstein & Partners in San Francisco. Both shops are owned by Omnicom Group.

The products, which are sold mainly in delis and supermarkets, are a joint venture between the Seattle brewer and Pepsi-Cola.

BBDO is the lead creative agency on the Pepsi account.

Goodby won the Starbucks branded drinks assignment in November 2005, besting Publicis Groupe-backed Bartle Bogle Hegarty in a review. The account went into review after the then-incumbent, Publicis Groupe's' Fallon in New York, closed.

Goodby referred inquires to Pepsi.

Mark Rooks, marketing director for the North American Coffee Partnership (the joint venture between Starbucks and Pepsi) said in a statement: "We've enjoyed working with Goodby and we've produced some great work together. The decision to part ways was mutual and amicable and we wish them continued success. And the door is always open for additional work down the road."

BBDO also today added the $170-200 million ad account of Best Buy.
