NEW YORK Staples is mulling three finalists, including primary incumbent MediaCom, in the review of media chores on its estimated $130 million-plus ad account, according to sources.

In addition to WPP Group’s MediaCom, Publicis Groupe’s Zenith Media and Interpublic Group’s Universal McCann are in contention, per sources. All are pitching from their offices in New York.

The client is headquartered in Framingham, Mass., and declined to identify the three finalists. Executives from the shops either declined comment or could not be reached.
