St. Louis Brokerage Cuts to 3 N.Y. Shops

NEW YORK Investment brokerage Edward Jones will hear from three New York agencies in the review for its $25-30 million advertising account, sources said.

The contenders are Wolf Group, Interpublic Group's Hill, Holliday, Connors, Cosmopulos and independent Kirshenbaum Bond & Partners. The shops will fly to the client's St. Louis offices early next week, where they will receive a strategic assignment before final presentations, a source said. A decision is expected at the end of October.

The St. Louis-based brokerage is searching for an agency to handle consumer advertising, direct-response creative and interactive work in North America and the U.K., consultant Randy Lindel has said.

Neither the client nor consultant could be reached for comment.

Media planning and buying, which is handled by Omnicom Group's PHD USA, is not part of the review.
