Turning 30 hasn’t been all that bad for Ray Sozzi. The president of Student Advantage, a Boston firm specializing in marketing to college-age consumers, was recently named a regional winner of Ernst & Young’s Entrepreneur of the Year award.
Sozzi’s youthful kingdom expanded last March, when he purchased cross-town rival Collegiate Advantage. The deal gives Sozzi’s company access to clients such as Coca-Cola, Gillette and Sam Goody.
More than 1.5 million students belong to Student Advantage’s membership program, which has attracted advertisers ranging from AT&T to MTV.
Sozzi is now in the running for a national title, to be announced next month during the 12th Annual Ernst & Young Entrepreneur of the Year International Conference.
