How much would you pay for a piece of gum that’s been chewed by both Patti LaBelle and Alex Bogusky? There is, indeed, such an item, and last Tuesday, at the Advertising Club of New York’s International Andy Awards ceremony, Crispin Porter + Bogusky’s ecd pondered putting it on eBay.

LaBelle opened the 40th anniversary show—co-sponsored by her new label, Def Soul Classics, along with Yahoo!, Kodak and The Albert Co. —and after apologizing for a voice that had been overtaxed a few days before, belted out a version of “Somewhere Over the Rainbow” that got a standing ovation.
