A tiny Salt Lake City design firm's been hit by a phantom pr pro who's been distributing phony publicity releases about the shop to the press. Dave Malone, one of the befuddled victims at Huddleston Malone Design, said they're so freaked out about the mystery that they've called in the police, who laughed at them. 'You do have to kind of laugh about it, but at the same time it concerns us, because someone has put so much time into this,' Malone said. The first two releases claimed the shop won business it hadn't. The third publicized some pro bono work that HM really did produce. The mystery writer used a letterhead similar to HM's business cards, but misspelled the agency name. Meanwhile, Malone has gotten some inquiries from potential clients who've been impressed by the bogus wins.
