ATLANTA Roy Rogers Restaurants has hired +SmithGifford to create a new ad campaign for the company after a review that included seven agencies, according to +SmithGifford.

The seven-year incumbent, Tandem Associates of Blue Bell, Pa., defended the account. The president of the shop, Mark Plamondon, is a cousin of the co-presidents of Roy Rogers. Plamondon did not respond to requests for an interview.

The other contenders for the account were not disclosed.

The independent Washington, D.C., shop will produce a print and broadcast campaign for the Frederick, Md.,
