That’s the gospel Carlotta Stankiewicz is preaching these days. The writer and associate creative director was laid off in November after nine years at GSD&M in Austin, Texas. But rather than wallow in soap-opera limbo, she launched PlanetPinkSlip.com, a site for the income-challenged that has sympathy cards, funny pages, a newsletter and T-shirts, mugs and mouse pads with slogans like “Paycheck, schmaycheck” and “I wasn’t fired—I was given a career change opportunity.”
