NEW YORK-Siegelgale, a branding and new-media consultancy, has hired Graham Turner as executive creative director of its New York office in an effort to bolster its advertising capabilities.
Turner, 46, was previously managing partner, ecd at Margeotes|Fer titta + Partners in New York. He left 10 months ago when he got "frustrated by the limitations of the traditional advertising-agency model," he said. After he considered starting his own shop, he decided to join Siegelgale instead.
"It was the perfect match," he added. "They take the consultancy model and various disciplines … and put those together in an untraditional agency model."
Alan Siegel, chairman and CEO, hired Turner after meeting with about 20 people over four months. He was impressed by Turner's work, which at Margeotes included About. com and MediaOne. "His work demonstrated the ability to capture unique brand personalities of different clients," Siegel said.
Turner replaces Gene was interim ecd since late last year, after Kenneth Cooke was pro moted to chief creative officer, world wide. Gross man will take his original role as director of corporate identity.
Turner has also served as svp, cd at Ogilvy & Mather in New York and svp, group cd at the former Chiat/Day in New York. Other brands he has worked on include American Express and Absolut Vodka.
Siegelgale claims billings of $50 million and has offices in Los Angeles, San Francisco, London and Tel Aviv, Israel. Its clients include Bristol-Myers Squibb, Bayer Corp. and Lycos. Eric ConnorJULIEPOWELL
