Wichita Agency Targets Consumer Clients
CHICAGO--Anticipating growth in its roster of consumer clients, Sullivan Higdon & Sink has expanded its 2-year-old Kansas City, Mo., operation.
"It's a chicken-and-egg type of thing, and we chose to buy the chicken," said SHS chief executive officer Joe Norris.
The $64 million agency, based in Wichita, Kan., first opened the Kansas City office to service aviation and pharmaceutical clients
--including Cessna Aircraft, TAG Aviation and Hoechst Marion Roussel. This month, the outpost moved into newly renovated offices with hopes of broadening its client roster.
"We've moved to a building we hope will accommodate the kind of growth we hope to be enjoying," Norris said.
The office was recently awarded project work for Kansas City's Country Club Plaza, one of the country's oldest shopping centers.
Securing that business is just the beginning of an aggressive push for a more varied roster, Norris said. New staffers with consumer category expertise have been brought in to lead the charge.
Separately, SHS broke new print work over the weekend for the Kansas Health Foundation. The $4.5 million campaign, which also features TV and outdoor advertising, uses shots of children and text or a voiceover exhorting viewers and readers to applaud, smile at, learn from or ask questions of a child. The theme is, "It only takes a moment, but it lasts a lifetime."
"What we really wanted to do was let people know there were specific things to do ... but that they were really simple things that would make a huge difference," said SHS associate creative director Bob Hamrick.
