Executive creative director Tom Shortlidge is leaving Young & Rubicam after 19 years, and the agency is looking for his replacement.
Shortlidge, 55, said he plans to attend art school and begin painting again. Co-executive creative director with Mike Faems since 1987, he pointed to his work on Sears and Pabst beer as highlights of his tenure. “There’s a lot of good stuff to look back on,” he said. “It’s hard to isolate a couple of things.”
Faems said the agency is losing “a terrific talent.”
