WASHINGTON — Sen. John McCain is taking to the silver screen in an effort to teach moviegoers about gun safety.

Beginning May 18, a trailer featuring the Arizona Republican talking about gun safety will play on 2,500 screens in 44 states. In the ad, McCain, standing on a school playground, urges adults to keep guns locked up and encourages children to tell a parent or a teacher if they hear someone talk about using a gun.
