LOS ANGELES Independent Sedgwick Rd. kicks off the 2005 Women’s National Basketball Association season this weekend with a new campaign to promote 2004 league champions the Seattle Storm, the agency said.

The “two-pronged campaign”—both winning team- and fan-centric—mixes television, print, outdoor and other marketing components, according to the Seattle shop.

The 30-second TV spot is interspersed with black-and-white footage of last season’s playoffs: confetti flying, fans cheering, players romping, general mayhem. When the camera cuts away, Storm forward (and WNBA 2004 Most Valuable Player) Lauren Jackson is seen fashionably dressed against a dark backdrop.
