Savitz Splits Research Functions

Marketing data specialist Savitz Research Center here is reorganizing its operations into two distinct companies to keep pace with its rapid growth, Savitz officials said last week.
The $12 million company, founded in 1981, is placing its customized primary research and strategic counsel offerings under the Savitz Research Solutions banner; market research and focus group activities will operate as Savitz Field & Focus. President and founder Jeff Savitz will retain oversight of both companies.
Coinciding with the move is the hiring of two vice presidents with equity standing in the research solutions division: Charles Battista and Robert Bisciglia.
Battista has held senior managerial research positions with companies including Campbell Soup Co. and Frito-Lay. Bisciglia has held similar research posts at Intelliquest, Dell Computer Corp., Miles Inc. and the Ortho Diagnostics division of Johnson & Johnson.
The Savitz Research service model focuses on bringing a senior manager with client experience on board each account team, the agency stated. "Now we are expanding on this approach by adding a different level of researcher with client-side experience," said Jeff Savitz in a statement.
"Our newest equity partners are actually specialists in a number of key industries," Savitz said.
Savitz has built a roster of telecommunications, retail, healthcare and financial services clients, with a specialization in researching Hispanic consumers.
The Savitz Field & Focus unit will add new offices in Chicago and Los Angeles to work with existing sites in Dallas, Houston and Arlington, Texas.
