BOSTON Childreach/Plan has named Bruce Rutter managing director of marketing and communica
tions.

Rutter, 52, is based in the Warwick, R.I., headquarters of the nonprofit group and he succeeds Amy Luz, who has moved to Childreach’s office in Washington, D.C., to oversee strategic development.

Rutter has worked for a decade as an independent marketing consultant. He has also held senior posts at Boston agencies Digitas and Hill, Holliday, Connors, Cosmopulos.

He agreed to take over marketing for Childreach following trips he took last year as a board member.
