Rockett Burkhead & Winslow has acquired the advertising account of Vanishing Point Studios, which specializes in unwanted hair removal.
Ad spending is expected to hit $4-5 million as the company plans to expand to 22 markets by the end of 2000, according to officials at the Raleigh, N.C., agency.
The Raleigh-based client currently operates six studios in three cities. The company spent $617,000 on ads in 1998; $360,000 through June, per Competitive Media Reporting.
Mad Dogs & Englishmen in New York had been working with Vanishing Point on a project basis.
Vanishing Point’s process removes hair in “alternative [ways] that are less invasive and more effective for the consumer,” company literature states.
