The Richards Group has dropped out of the review for Nasdaq's $30 million account.
The Dallas agency felt the client preferred to work with an East Coast shop, a source said. New York agencies Kirshenbaum Bond & Partners and Bouchez Kent + Co. have since replaced Richards in the review, sources said.
The other shops in contention include Arnold, Boston; McKinney & Silver, Raleigh, N.C.; and Grey, J. Walter Thompson, Young & Rubicam and incumbent Messner Vetere Berger McNamee Schmetterer/Euro RSCG, all New York.
Denise Benou Stires, Nasdaq's executive vice president of marketing, is expected to meet contenders the week of June 18, after which three or four finalists will be named.
