DALLAS Nearing two decades handling the Motel 6 advertising account, The Richards Group continues to create new executions of the campaign built around the “We’ll leave the light on for you” tagline.

In two of nine new TV spots breaking this summer, the 15-second ads use humor and the familiar folksy narration to appeal to discount-minded travelers.

One spot shows a baseball coach flashing signals as one of his players translates the message that travelers can “slide into” Motel 6 for a comfortable and affordable stay.
