Rex Healthcare has awarded its ad account to Jennings/the Agency, the client confirmed.

The Chapel Hill, N.C., shop bested five undisclosed area agencies for the hospital’s estimated $2 million account. There was no incumbent.

According to agency president Paige Zinns, the review was triggered when the century-old hospital in Raleigh, N.C., was purchased by UNC Healthcare.

Jennings also handles that account. “We felt there was some sense about doing both accounts,” Zinns said, “but we didn’t take winning for granted.”

Instead, the shop’s creative team developed three speculative television campaigns, which it presented to a review committee.
