CNET is in the early stages of an agency review for its Snap online service account, and has contacted several California shops. Billings are undisclosed, but sources estimate the account to be worth $1-2 million.
“The whole process is in the preliminary stages,” said Karen Wood, a CNET representative. “The phone calls we are making are very informal.”
Saatchi & Saatchi, San Francisco, which handles advertising for CNET, has been contacted about Snap and is expected to pursue the business, said sources.
CNET launched Snap, a free online service featuring content from several Web sites, last fall.
