ATLANTA At least two Atlanta shops have been invited to participate in the review for the creative portion of Rare Hospitality International's $25 million advertising account, sources said.
Independent WestWayne and Interpublic Group's Fitzgerald + Co. have received requests for proposals, sources said. Hasan + Co. in Raleigh, N.C., is managing the search, and has contacted a dozen shops in the South, Southwest and Midwest [Adweek Online, May 26].
Atlanta-based RHI spent $8 million on advertising in 2003, according to TNS Media Intelligence/CMR. The company, which is increasing spending to $25 million this year, is looking for a midsize creative agency with restaurant experience, consultant Hasan Ramusevic said.
Incumbent Scharbo & Co. in Atlanta is not defending.
Final presentations will take place later this month, and a decision is expected in mid-July.
RHI owns the Capital Grille, Bugaboo Creek Steak House and Longhorn Steak House chains.
