ATLANTA Dwayne Fry has joined The Republik as chief strategic officer, a new position, the shop said.

Fry, 46, also will sit on the independent Durham, N.C., agency’s executive committee with the shop’s CEO, Robert Shaw West, and its creative director, David Smith.

Before Fry joined Republik, West served as chief strategic officer. West said he had been searching for someone to take the position for almost two years.

Fry will be responsible for developing the shop’s management plans and its clients’ marketing strategies.
