Reebok Signs Titans QB Young

NEW YORK Reebok has signed a multiyear deal with quarterback Vince Young, who will represent the company in its marketing.

The Tennessee Titans on Saturday took Young, who led the University of Texas football team to the national college championship this past season, as the No. 3 pick in the National Football League draft.

Beginning this pro football season, Young will promote the brand's Rbk Performance product collection, specifically the Pump Down and Out cleat and Rbk Triple Impact compression apparel, part of the NFL Equipment collection, which will launch this year. He will be included in Reebok's new NFL TV campaign, "I knew . . . ," a creative execution within the brand's marketing platform, "I am what I am."

"I knew ..." ads will highlight the brand's iconic athletes to aggressively market Reebok as the official outfitter of the NFL. Young's "I knew..." ad will debut this fall and will air on NFL game broadcasts, per Reebok in Canton, Mass.

Mcgarrybowen in New York is Reebok's lead agency. Young's agent is Major Adams. The deal was revealed late Friday. Terms were not disclosed. Reebok spends more than $100 million annually on global advertising. U.S. measured media spending in 2005 was $60 million, per TNS Media Intelligence.

Reggie Bush, star running back of the University of Southern California, who was the No. 2 overall pick of the New Orleans Saints, signed a deal with Reebok parent Adidas last week. Other NFL quarterbacks who represent Reebok include Peyton Manning, Donovan McNabb, Eli Manning, Matt Hasselbeck and Byron Leftwich. (Reebok is the exclusive on-field apparel provider for the NFL. All 1,800 players in the league are outfitted in NFL Equipment apparel, designed and engineered by Reebok, which is also the exclusive licensee of NFL branded footwear.)
