DDB Dallas has won the Silver Kelly Award for its Tabasco “Labels” campaign.

The shop was honored by the Magazine Publishers Association last week for work that reflected both creative excellence and effectiveness (Tabasco’s sales were up 10 percent over the last year).

“It’s a totally out-of-the-box solution for a packaged-goods advertiser,” said DDB managing director Janet Bustin. “It effectively communicated information about the brand embedded in very strong brand imagery.”

Specifically, DDB group creative director Carl Warner, art director Kathleen Redick and copywriter Julie Bowman conceived print ads leveraging Tabasco’s fiery heat to distinguish and define the brand’s four flavors—red, green, garlic and habanero.
