BOSTON Omnicom Group’s Diversified Agency Services has appointed Tracy Locke chairman Gary VonKennel as chairman and chief executive of Rapp Collins Worldwide. He replaces Malcolm Speed, 52, who is retiring after about five years at the direct marketing agency.

VonKennel, 55, started in the post yesterday, according to a Rapp representative.

Tracy Locke, also a part of Omnicom’s DAS, will not fill the chairman position, a shop representative said. VonKennel had also served as CEO of Tracy Locke in Dallas until last April, when he shifted day-to-day responsibilities to Ed Winter, who formerly held the titles of vice chairman and chief strategy officer.
