NEW YORK Quiznos has chosen Interpublic Group's The Martin Agency for creative chores on its estimated $25 million account following a review, the client has confirmed.
The Richmond, Va., shop beat out the incumbent, Cliff Freeman and Partners, and another independent New York shop, The Romann Group, as well as Wieden + Kennedy in Portland, Ore.
A client representative said no decision has been made on a selecting a media partner, nor on an agency to handle below-the-line duties such as public relations and in-store ads.
In a separate review for media, the Denver-based client is considering incumbent IPG's Initiative Media in New York, as well as independents Camelot Communications in Dallas, and Media Head in New York. Public relations and in-store marketing for Quiznos have respectively been handled by WPP Group's Ogilvy & Mather PR in Denver and IPG's Zipatoni in St. Louis.
Sources said the client had been considering consolidating below-the-line duties depending on whether the newly selected lead creative agency could handle such assignments.
Cliff Freeman had won creative chores on the sandwich chain's account in 1999.
