NEW YORK Wieden + Kennedy has added a spelling champ and some other unique characters to the traditional athletes and announcers in its latest campaign for ESPN’s SportsCenter.

Andy Roddick, Lennox Lewis, Heather Mitts and others wander around the ESPN office in several of the six spots by the New York shop, which began breaking last week. In one, Mitts urges Lewis to say British phrases such as “on the telly.” In another ad, Roddick bounces a tennis ball on his racket until the University of Massachusetts’ Minutemen mascot knocks it away, clearly exasperated despite the frozen smile on his oversized, plastic head.
