NEW YORK — Publix Super Markets has launched a TV commercial intended to emphasize the retailer’s passion for local football. But the Lakeland, Fla.-based grocery chain, whose markets in Florida and Georgia encompass the NFL’s Miami Dolphins, Tampa Bay Buccaneers, Jacksonville Jaguars and Atlanta Falcons, has caused some viewers to throw a penalty flag. The TV ad shows fans preparing to attend a football game wearing jerseys strikingly similar to those of the Dolphins’ most intense rival, the New York Jets.
