Publicis Wins Champion, Just My Size

DALLAS -- Sara Lee Branded Apparel has awarded Publicis in Mid America the advertising accounts of Champion Products and Just My Size, estimated to total about $20 million, sources said.

The Dallas agency won both accounts in two separate reviews. Marketing teams from the two brands jointly visited and heard oral presentations from five other roster shops: Kraftworks and Grey, both of New York, Euro RSCG Tatham Partners and Bcom3 Group's Leo Burnett, both of Chicago, and Temerlin McClain in Irving, Texas, sources said (Adweek September 2).

Temerlin has been handling Just My Size's account. Mullen in Winston-Salem, N.C., which handled the Champion business, recently said the account had been inactive for almost a year.

Sara Lee is significantly ramping up spending on both accounts. Last year Champion and Just My Size spent $3 million and $7 million, respectively, on advertising, according to CMR.

Neither the agency nor the Winston-Salem-based client could be reached for comment.
