CHICAGO Publicis Groupe is launching Denuo, a consulting unit that will focus on new-media opportunities, according to the holding company.
The unit, which takes its name from the Latin word for "anew," will have offices in Chicago and New York, led by Rishad Tobaccawala, chief innovation officer for Publicis Groupe Media. The unit will ultimately report to Publicis Groupe Media chairman Jack Klues.
Denuo's mission is threefold: Offer strategic consulting on new media; create ventures and partnerships in that realm; and help other Publicis Groupe agencies implement programs for their clients.
"We are of course already very present in the digital and interactive universe and have continuously pushed the envelope with various important marketing innovation," said Publicis Groupe chairman Maurice Lévy, in a statement. "With Denuo, we aim to place the entire Publicis Groupe at the very cutting edge of innovation."
The unit will start with 15 employees that have already been working within Publicis Groupe. Additionally, Nick Pahade, a former president of WPP Group's Beyond Interactive and managing director of Media:com digital, is joining the company as president.
