Publicis in the United States has moved to tap the exploding Latino market, acquiring interests in Hispanic marketing firms Sanchez & Levitan and SiboneyUSA.

New York-based Publicis, part of the Publicis Groupe S.A. of Paris, purchased a 49 percent stake in Miami’s Sanchez & Levitan and bought the Dallas and Los Angeles offices of SiboneyUSA.

The two shops will be combined into a new entity, Publicis Sanchez & Levitan.

“This becomes a great opportunity to catapult our agency into a powerhouse,” said Fausto Sanchez, who with partner Aida Levitan becomes a co-chairperson of the new shop.
