The Advertising Club of Greater Boston launched its 1997 public service campaign last week. This year’s chosen charity was Project Bread’s FoodSource Hotline. The statewide, toll-free number refers callers to local programs for the hungry.

Wallwork Curry created the campaign, which includes a television spot, radio series, and print and outdoor ads.

‘One thing we really felt was necessary to convey was that (hungry people) are not alone,’ said creative director Bob Curry.

The 30-second TV spot shows pieces of pie being removed one by one while the voiceover explains that when families have to make choices about where the money goes, sometimes there’s not enough to go around.
