CHICAGO Former LB Works chief creative officer Steffan Postaer is set to become chairman and chief creative officer at Euro RSCG Chicago, the agency confirmed.
The is rebuilding after several client losses in recent months, including Red Lobster's $100 million account, Sara Lee's Hillshire Farms business (worth $20 million) and work from Alberto Culver ($45 million). The losses led to personnel layoffs that included president Dennis Glennon. The shop's former chief creative officer, Jim Schmidt, left in January.
Postaer left his former agency last December after parent Leo Burnett shut down the division, claiming there was too much overlap between the main agency and the business-to-business unit. Since that time, LB Works clients such as Earthlink, Lexmark and Starbucks have left the agency.
The Havas-owned agency is now attempting to rebuild a Chicago presence. In May, the shop named former Young & Rubicam executive Ron Bess as CEO, replacing Gary Epstein, who left the agency this month.
Postaer's start date has not yet been determined, as he needs to clear up contractual issues with Burnett.
