NEW YORK Poindexter Systems said it has hired the former chief scientist at Amazon.com to serve in the same role at Poindexter.
Andreas Weigend, 45, joined Poindexter to focus on fine-tuning Poindexter’s data-mining and customer-profiling capabilities. Poindexter works with advertisers to better target their online advertisements. He will be in charge of product development and strategy at Poindexter. Weigend will remain based in Seattle.
At Amazon, Weigend developed predictive models, based on prior site behavior and other factors, which were used to make product recommendations to customers.
