Virgin Megastores has awarded its national media account to Palisades Media Group after a review. Billings are estimated at $10 million-plus.
The agency prevailed over incumbent RNF Media, Beverly Hills, Calif., and undisclosed
others. Swirl in San Francisco handles creative duties.
PMG, Santa Monica, Calif., will be responsible for broadcast and print media planning and buying in Virgin Megastores’ 13 U.S. markets, including Los Angeles and New York.
“PMG’s traditional strength in the entertainment industry and its general media savvy are vital assets since Virgin is now looking forward to new directions in our marketing strategies,” said Christos Garkinos, senior vice president of parent Virgin Entertainment Group, Los Angeles.
“What they were looking for is somebody who understands their need to balance a nontraditional approach to media with the science of media,” said Mercedes Tondre, PMG’s senior vice president of account services.
