How many commercials does it take to show a golfer drive a dimpled white ball from New York to California? The answer, according to a new campaign for Pinnacle called “The Drive Across America,” is five.
A series of spots by Arnold Communications in Boston broke Sunday on NBC during the Bob Hope Chrysler Classic and is scheduled to run on golf and possibly other sports programs for the duration of the golf season, said Pinnacle marketing manager Jason Kissell.
The ads feature Jason Zubak, two-time North American long-distance driving champion, coordinating his efforts from various locations throughout the country.
The spots target the novice looking for a low-cost ball with maximum driving distance, Kissell said.
The commercials were created by chief creative officer Ron Lawner, written by John Petruney and art directed by Ron Harper.
