Pile's Collaborative Taps Smedberg

BOSTON Lisa Smedberg has been appointed business development director at the Communications Collaborative, the freelance placement arm of consulting firm Pile and Co., the company said.

Her primary responsibility will be strategic account development and creating new service solutions for current collaborative clients. She filled an open position at the company.

Prior to joining the Communications Collaborative, Smedberg, 39, was a branding consultant and design manager for a range of companies, including IBM, Scudder Investments and John Hancock Financial Services.

Her global experience includes implementing new brand architecture for Rational Software in Europe, the Middle East and in Asia.

"The collaborative is all about integrating our specific understanding of the marketing communications industry with the recruiting and placement business. Lisa's depth and breadth of experience fits perfectly with that strategy. She really understands what clients are looking for because in many cases she's done the job," said Matt Gill, svp of the collaborative.
